This time, I, as a master of ADUSA, would like to introduce ADUSA properly.
1. Comprehension of Words
At first, the words that ADUSA understands are as follows.
1) “Mate!” (generally, when you want to stop her action such as walking or eating)
2) “Ike!” or “Go!” (When encouraging walking)
3) Jump! (When jumping off a step or jumping up to cross a step)
4) “Dame!” (When you stop ADUSA’s action in various situations, for example, in the case that ADUSA protrudes from the sidewalk into the roadway, etc.)
5) “Yoshi!” (Command that is used to allow eating foods or to cancel "Wait".)
6) “Osuwari!” (Sit with front legs upright)
7) “Fuse!” (Sit with the stomach on the floor)
8) “Ote!” (Left handshake), “Okawari!” (Right handshake)
9) “Wataru!” (When walking on the sidewalk along the road, use this command to cross the road almost vertically)
10) “Mawattekoi!” (When the lead is caught in an obstacle such as a pole and ADUSA and I cannot move forward, this signal is used to order ADUSA to untie the lead from the obstacle and return it to normal.)
11) “Haire!”
When traveling by bus, train, etc., I put the ADUSA in my carry bag. It's a little bit narrow carry bag, but recently it seems that ADUSA has come to understand that she can enter and fit in it. If I open the entrance of the carry bag and say "Haire!", ADUSA will enter the carry bag by herself.
On the contrary, if I try to force her into it, she may bite me, so it is easy for the owner that ADUSA enters the carry bag by herself. By the way, the carry bag can also be opened on the other side, but ADUSA's favorite entrance seems to be fixed, and if you try to put her in from the other side, her resistance will be intense.
It was only recently that I realized that there is her "favorite entrance".
2. Appearance of ADUSA
ADUSA is a “Mameshiba”, so her weight is light, about 7kg, which is just the right size. She is a "cat dog" who sits on my lap like a cat. As for her looks, she has cute round eyes and pricked ears. The shape of her nose is beautiful, so her face is especially beautiful when viewed from the side. ADUSA's tail is a fully curly tail.
3. ADUSA special skills and features
1) Ability to hold defecation for a long time
ADUSA can hold defecation for about 12 hours.
Lately, I've been taking walks with ADUSA three times a day. But in the past, I took ADUSA for a walk at 8:00 in the morning, put her in my hotel room, and left the hotel for work reasons.
At that night, I returned home late at 10:00 p.m., so, ADUSA restrained herself from defecation in my hotel room for 14 hours.
2) Does not excrete unless she is in walk mode
ADUSA does not excrete when she is on leash. She doesn't seem to excrete in that state no matter how long the lead is. Even if I go far away while ADUSA is on a lead and don't come back for hours, ADUSA won't pollute the area where she's tethered. When ADUSA recognizes that only if she is in a state of "walking", she seems to think that "it is okay to excrete". ADUSA has never defecated in a room, in a car, or in its own territory (a circle with a radius equal to the length of the lead if connected by a lead). In case of diarrhea or something like that, I know ADUSA will bark a lot more than usual, so of course I'll take her for a walk, and she'll be fine.
I don't remember having to discipline ADUSA strictly about excretion, so I don't understand why ADUSA is so stoic.
4) Rarely barks
First, the people and cases where ADUSA barks are as follows. Other than that, she doesn't seem to feel the need to bark. The following cases are very rare, so it's safe to say she doesn't bark at all, and that's true. For this reason, wherever she goes, she is praised as "gentle" and "cute".
a) a person wearing sunglasses
b) a person with a cane
c) power wheelchairs
d) when a stranger is running towards us
e) If ADUSA wants to tell another dog that she wants to play
f) If there is a loud noise suddenly coming from the next room
g) When "I want to poop, but I really don't want to do it here! (in a cage, in a room, or in a circle whose radius is the length of the lead)."
h) If ADUSA finds a ghost
i) If my attitude is negligent when I am playing with ADUSA
5) Meal etiquette
When I said, "Who eats (foods or snacks)!", ADUSA raises her right front leg and signals "Yes!" (See video 1). ADUSA will never start eating foods or snacks without my "OK!" cue. Also, I have not disciplined her, but when food is spilled, she eats the spilled food first and cleans it up, even though there is still a lot in the dishes, and then she eats the remaining food.
5) "Dance of Joy"
At first, I thought ADUSA would dance for joy because her back was itchy, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Then, if you ask whether ADUSA should be done on the ground that should be comfortable, such as grass, it is not so. ADUSA does it on asphalt or concrete, even if it's a little damp, except on rain-drenched ground. So, I think, “Oh, if this comes out, she must be in a good mood, both physically and mentally.” and I look at it as a “good mood parameter”.
6) Strong Independence
Shiba Inu is often said to be "Tsun-Dere". I think ADUSA is usually "Dere-Dere", but even now when she is 4 years and 6 months old, she still bites me if I'm not careful. For example, when I picked up ADUSA with a plastic bag hanging in my hand and tried her to greet a dog in someone else's car, the lead and plastic bag got entangled in ADUSA's hind legs, causing ADUSA to tangle. I couldn't untangle the lead and shopping bag that got entangled, so the angry ADUSA bit my hand seriously and I bled a lot.
My previous Golden Retriever never bit me, no matter how bad the situation was for the dog. In the case of ADUSA, when it came to training her as a puppy, I used to get my hands bloody. The Shiba Inu is very independent, and if it is forced to do something that is not what it thinks, or if it causes physical pain, it will mercilessly bite even its master, who has been with him since birth. ADUSA is a dog with a strong sense of independence, so she showed considerable resistance to training in her early childhood.
7) Style of Walking
When there are no people nearby, my style is to extend the lead to about 4m and take ADUSA for a walk. The reason is that if I extend it this far, ADUSA will know it and will walk along without sticking to it, so I can walk naturally without being pulled by ADUSA with a lead. This greatly reduces human fatigue. It seems that the dog can also take a walk without stress.
On the other hand, when the lead is shortened in the city, ADUSA will walk at a pace without sniffing here and there like when the lead is lengthened.
8) Incomprehensible "Suki-Suki Attack"
I have introduced ADUSA's abnormal behavior, which I call "Suki-Suki Attack", but I do not understand the meaning well. ADUSA does this all year round, so it doesn't have anything to do with ADUSA's estrus period, and she attacks after meals, snacks, walks, play, etc., when she should be in a relatively good mood. So I don't think it's because she has an aggressive mentality when she does it. I, the attacked side, feels "a little strange" during the attack, however, it doesn't hurt or itch, so all I have to do is raise my leg to the "just-fit angle". She seems to be particular about this angle, and if the angle is bad, she will growl and bite my pants.
This time, I tried to introduce ADUSA in earnest. Did you understand that ADUSA is a special dog for me?
